A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory sitting in Maitama has struck out the forgery case filed against senior advocate Mike Ozekhome following the withdrawal of the charge by the Attorney-General of the Federation.
Gatekeepers News reports that the case, which was instituted by Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), was dismissed after the prosecution informed the court that the office of the AGF had taken over the matter and decided to discontinue further proceedings.
ICPC had on January 16 filed a three-count charge accusing Ozekhome of forgery. However, the AGF assumed control of the case on January 26, in line with constitutional powers, and later applied for its withdrawal.
Following the application, the court granted the request and struck out the suit, bringing an end to the legal action against the senior lawyer.
