Kuwaiti Ministry of Defence on Monday confirmed that several United States military fighter jets crashed in different locations across the country, triggering emergency rescue operations and heightening security concerns in the Gulf region.
Gatekeepers News reports that in an official statement, the ministry said the incidents occurred in the early hours of the morning near a major US military installation. Search-and-rescue teams were immediately deployed to the affected areas, leading to the swift evacuation of all crew members from the crash sites.
The injured personnel were transferred to nearby hospitals for urgent medical evaluation and treatment, with authorities confirming that their conditions remain stable.
Defence officials did not disclose the exact number of aircraft involved or the total number of crew members affected. However, they stressed that there were no fatalities and assured the public that investigations were already underway to determine the cause of the crashes.
Joint inquiry teams made up of Kuwaiti and US military experts are reportedly analysing flight data, wreckage, and surveillance footage to establish whether the incidents were caused by mechanical failure, hostile action, or operational error.
Earlier, videos widely circulated on social media showed a fighter jet engulfed in flames as it plunged from the sky and crashed close to a US air base in Kuwait. Thick smoke was seen rising from the impact site, sparking panic among residents in nearby areas.
A preliminary assessment by military analysts indicated that the aircraft closely resembled a US F-15E Strike Eagle, a twin-engine fighter jet commonly deployed for long-range strike missions. Reports confirmed that the pilot ejected safely before the aircraft hit the ground and landed without serious injury.
In a major escalation, Iran later claimed responsibility for shooting down one of the jets, further inflaming tensions in the region. The claim comes amid intensifying hostilities following coordinated military strikes launched by the United States and Israel against Iranian targets on Saturday.
Since the start of the joint offensive, at least three US soldiers have been killed, while five others sustained injuries during combat operations. The rising casualty toll has drawn strong reactions from Washington, with US President Donald Trump vowing swift retaliation. He warned, however, that more losses could occur as the conflict continues.
Security has been tightened across US and allied military bases in the Middle East, with increased air patrols, heightened surveillance, and reinforced defensive measures now in place.
