Norwegian police said the cause of the explosion is still under investigation. Authorities noted that they are considering several possibilities, including the likelihood that the embassy may have been deliberately targeted.

Police said forensic teams are currently analysinh evidence recovered from the site, while surveillance footage from nearby locations is also being reviewed to determine how the blast occurred.

Although no group has claimed responsibility and the motive remains unclear, security around diplomatic missions in Norway has been tightened as a precaution.
