Nigeria Police Force has announced a change in its public relations leadership following the appointment of Deputy Commissioner of Police Anthony Okon Placid as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO).

Gatekeepers News reports that the appointment was approved by Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu, who recently assumed office as the head of the police force.

Placid will take over the role from Benjamin Hundeyin, who had been serving as the Force spokesperson since September 2025. Hundeyin was appointed to the position by the immediate past Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday, where Hundeyin confirmed that Placid would now be responsible for handling the police force’s public communication and media relations.
