Tottenham Hotspur fought back to secure a 1–1 draw against Liverpool in their English Premier League clash at Anfield on Sunday, while Manchester United boosted their hold on third position with a win in another match.
Gatekeepers News reports that Liverpool took the lead in the 18th minute when Dominik Szoboszlai curled a free kick into the net after the home side dominated the early stages of the encounter. The goal looked set to give the Reds all three points as they controlled much of the game.
However, Tottenham refused to give up and found a late equaliser through Richarlison, who struck near the end of the match to rescue a valuable point for the visitors and end their losing run.
The result meant Liverpool missed the opportunity to climb into the Premier League’s top four, remaining just outside the Champions League qualification places after the draw.
In another league match, Manchester United defeated Aston Villa 3–1 to tighten their grip on third place in the table. Casemiro and substitute Benjamin Sesko were among the scorers, while Matheus Cunha also found the net for United.
The victory moved United to 54 points after 30 matches, three points ahead of fourth-placed Aston Villa, strengthening their chances of finishing in the top four.
Elsewhere, Nottingham Forest played out a goalless draw with Fulham, while Crystal Palace and Leeds United also settled for a 0–0 stalemate in their Premier League fixtures.
