The Director of US National Counterterrorism Center, Joe Kent, has resigned from his position in protest against the ongoing war between the United States and Iran.
Gatekeepers News reports that Kent announced his resignation on Tuesday, stating that he could no longer support the administration’s decision to engage in the conflict. In his resignation message, he stressed that Iran did not pose any immediate threat to the United States.
He alleged that the war was influenced by external pressure, particularly pointing to Israel and its lobbying power.
Kent had only been confirmed into the role in 2025 and was responsible for coordinating US efforts to detect and prevent terrorist threats before his sudden exit.
