President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed Nigeria’s security chiefs to relocate to Maiduguri following the recent deadly bomb attacks in the city.

Gatekeepers News reports that the president gave the directive after multiple explosions rocked the Borno State capital, leaving at least 23 people dead and over 100 others injured.

In a statement issued by his special adviser, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu condemned the attacks, describing them as desperate attempts by terrorists to spread fear despite ongoing military pressure. He assured Nigerians that security forces would intensify operations against criminal elements across the country.

The president also ordered emergency agencies to provide adequate medical care for those injured in the blasts, while expressing condolences to families of the victims and solidarity with residents of Maiduguri.

Tinubu stressed that the relocation of security chiefs is aimed at taking direct control of the situation on ground, coordinating response efforts, and ensuring that those responsible for the attacks are tracked and eliminated.

The directive follows coordinated bomb attacks on key locations in Maiduguri, including a market and areas around the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, in what authorities suspect to be suicide bombings linked to terrorist groups.

Federal government reiterated its stance that no part of the country will be allowed to serve as a safe haven for terrorists, vowing to confront and defeat those behind the violence.
