OOUTH Condemns Assault On Staff And Vows Legal Action

The management of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, Ogun State, has strongly condemned the assault of one of its staff members by relatives of a patient within the facility.

Gatekeepers Newreports that in a statement, the hospital reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards any form of violence against medical and healthcare personnel, warning that anyone found responsible will be apprehended and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

“The safety, dignity, and well-being of our healthcare workers remain a top priority, as they are committed daily to saving lives and providing quality care to all,” the management said.

The hospital also confirmed that the affected staff member is receiving appropriate medical care and support.

OOUTH urged patients, their relatives, and the general public to cooperate with healthcare workers and maintain mutual respect at all times.

“Acts of violence only serve to undermine the delivery of essential healthcare services and will not be tolerated under any circumstances. OOUTH remains committed to maintaining a safe and conducive environment for both patients and staff,” the statement added.
