A compressed natural gas (CNG) bus exploded in Kaduna State in the early hours of Sunday, causing panic but leaving no casualties.
Gatekeepers News reports that the incident occurred around 3:00am at Mando Motor Park when a luxury bus belonging to Silver Luxury Travel suddenly went up in flames.
Kaduna State Police Command said preliminary findings showed the explosion was caused by an overfilled gas tank in the CNG-powered vehicle.
The blast affected at least two other luxury buses parked nearby, though no lives were lost and no major property damage was recorded.
Police spokesperson Mansir Hassan confirmed that the situation has been brought under control, with the affected vehicle evacuated and the area secured.
He also disclosed that detectives and the bomb disposal unit have been deployed to investigate the incident and prevent future occurrences.
Authorities further urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information, noting that such incidents could trigger unnecessary panic if misrepresented.
