National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has sealed 16 sachet water factories in Rivers State for allegedly violating safety and production regulations.

Gatekeepers News reports that the agency said the affected factories failed to meet required hygiene and operational standards during inspection exercises carried out across the state.

According to NAFDAC, some of the facilities were operating without proper registration, while others used unsafe production processes and failed to comply with approved manufacturing guidelines.

Officials said the enforcement exercise was aimed at protecting public health and ensuring that only safe and properly regulated packaged water products are sold to consumers.

NAFDAC also warned producers against cutting corners, stressing that the agency would continue monitoring and sanctioning violators in the interest of public safety.
