Nigeria’s Super Eagles defeated Jamaica to win the 2026 Unity Cup, claiming their fourth title in the history of the competition and extending their dominance in the tournament.

Gatekeepers News reports that the final, played at The Valley in London, saw Eric Chelle’s side produce a convincing display against the Reggae Boyz as they successfully defended the trophy they won in 2025.

The victory marked another major achievement for the team under Chelle, who has continued to rebuild the squad with a blend of experienced players and new faces.

Nigeria entered the final after defeating Zimbabwe in the semi-finals, while Jamaica secured their place after overcoming their own last-four challenge. Ahead of the encounter, both teams had approached the match with confidence, with Jamaica seeking revenge for their defeat to Nigeria in the previous Unity Cup final.

The Super Eagles have now won every edition of the Unity Cup they have participated in, having previously lifted the trophy in 2002, 2004 and 2025. Their latest triumph further strengthens their record as the most successful nation in the competition’s history.

The tournament, which brings together countries with strong diaspora communities in the United Kingdom, featured Nigeria, Jamaica, Zimbabwe and India in this year’s edition.
