Tinubu Seeks God’s Blessings For Nigeria’s Prosperity At Dinner With Govs In Saudi Arabia

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has prayed for Nigeria’s peace, unity and prosperity, urging citizens to turn the country’s ethnic, religious and cultural diversity into a source of national strength and development.

Gatekeepers News reports that Tinubu made the prayer on Sunday, November 1, 2026, during a dinner with Governors, ministers, business leaders and other members of his delegation in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, where he travelled to perform the lesser pilgrimage, Umrah.

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President expressed hope that Nigeria’s diversity would promote national unity and peaceful coexistence rather than division.

“May Almighty Allah bless Nigeria, convert our diversity into prosperity as a country,” Tinubu said.

He also prayed for lasting peace and harmony, asking Allah to grant the country’s leaders the wisdom, courage and foresight to steer Nigeria towards greater development and improved living conditions.

The President further sought divine guidance and protection for Nigerians at home and abroad, urging citizens to strengthen their bonds of brotherhood and embrace patriotism, compassion and service to the country.

He noted that Nigeria’s abundant human and natural resources, alongside the talents and creativity of its people, provided a strong foundation for building an inclusive and prosperous nation.

Speaking at the gathering, Chairman of BUA Group, Abdulsamad Rabiu, said the dinner was the third held with the President since the delegation arrived in Makkah.

Rabiu said the meetings provided an opportunity to pray for Nigeria’s peace, unity and prosperity, while reaffirming his support for the President.

“We will continue to support His Excellency in whatever capacity we can and definitely, as you all know, Mr President is very passionate about the country. He is working very hard, and we’ll continue to support him,” he said.

Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, also praised Tinubu’s commitment to national development and prayed for divine guidance in his leadership.

“Only Allah can reward you; we will continue to pray for you daily and pray for Nigeria that you lead,” AbdulRazaq said.

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, also offered prayers for the President, asking Allah to strengthen him in delivering justice and good governance to Nigerians irrespective of their religious or ethnic backgrounds.

Governors Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, Uba Sani of Kaduna, Mohammed Namadi of Jigawa, Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto and Babagana Zulum of Borno attended the dinner.
