Former Senate president, Bukola Saraki, has remembered the former president, Umaru Musa Yar’adua, 14 years after his death.
Gatekeepers News reports that Saraki In a post via his X handle on Sunday, May 5, remembered honoured the memory of his friend, while thanking him for his service to the nation.
He wrote: “Every year, on the 5th of May, when the nation pauses to honour the memory of our late President, His Excellency, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, I take some time to reflect on the memory of my friend.
“Today, I remember what he stood for and how he worked towards it. I remember his focus on building strong institutions—so that the very DNA of our democracy would be founded on laws and best practices, not on the whims of men.
“I also remember his unfinished work, and how we must all work together—regardless of where we stand—to actualize his dreams of a better Nigeria.
“Today, as we honour the memory of my friend, my brother, and our former President, we thank him for his service to our nation. And we pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) will continue to grant him a place amongst the righteous ones in Al Jannah Firdaus. Ameen.”
