This is the philosophy that embodies the spirit of Afemai Coalition for Asue Ighodalo. This makes the candidate of the PDP to stand out amongst governorship candidates in the upcoming Edo State election.

Their mode of delivering the campaign message of Dr. Ighodalo shows that accurate information is crucial to enable the people make informed choices in choosing their leaders.

To ensure that the people of Edo North make this informed choice, propelled the Coalition to once again embark on its mobilisation activities to Sabongida Ora in Owan West LGA of Edo State.

The visit to the markets was an interactive one between members of the Coalition and some traders in the market. One of the respondents, a market woman said “Na the man wey sabi, wey he go do am wey we want now. Wetin be him name? Ighodalo! PDP!

A member of the Coalition stated that they were in Sabongida Ora in conjunction with Annewatt and “we bring this gospel say Asue Ighodalo na better man, na man wey we go trust, na man we go fit leave Edo for.”

Another market woman said, “we want everybody to vote for Asue Ighodalo, the man who will do anything that we want for us, the man who will help the youth. The man who will cater for women, the man who will cater for market women.”

One of his supporter and volunteer said, “I am here in support of Afemai Coalition for Asue Ighodalo. I advise all of us to vote Asue Ighodalo, a man that can solve the whole problem. A man that can make Edo State good again.”

CSO to Estako Central Local Government, Aloysius Eleta who was on the campaign trail has this to say, “We are here today at Owan West Local Government to discuss with the market women about the tsunami movement that is going on in Edo State. A man of principle, a man of honour, Barrister Dr Asue Ighodalo. If you recall since 2007, Edo State has decided that electing a Governor is a personal decision to always make anytime Voting does not really go along political party lines, we take our destiny in our hands, Barr. Asue Ighodalo is our destiny. He is the person everybody is rooting for.”

Speaking also, Yusuf Abdul Quadri, Secretary of Afemai Coalition for Asue Ighodalo, ” We are here this afternoon in Sabongida Ora Owan West to sensitize people, to mobile vote for Asue Ighodalo and also to tell them the reason why they should queue behind the candidacy of Asue Ighodalo. That Asue Ighodalo is a man that has worked in different organisations, different companies, and different parastatals to foster good development for human development and State development. And if on September 21st, 2024, we all queue and give him our vote, we believe that Edo State will be in safe hands.”

The Coordinator Afemai Coalition for Asue Ighodalo in Owan West Local Government maintained that “the Owan West people are very happy with what they have seen. You see every man and woman here, they are dragging the apron and cap because of the interest they have in the people that are sharing it. They are also bringing another development, they are bringing another thing entirely to Owan West Local Government. As you can see, everyone in Sabongida Ora is happy to receive the Afemnai coalition group.”

Bashir Ekekhide, Coordinator for Afemai Coalition For Asue Ighodalo in Owan East said, “What we are here today to do in Owan West is to give support to our people, to encourage them to support the very best. We have decided as people in Edo North to support Dr Asue Ighodalo. Be you PDP, be you APC, be you Labour Party, be you any party that is in Edo State, we urge them to say, among the contestants, it is the best that we have come to support, recognise, to throw our weight behind for a better Edo State, for the future of our people, for good infrastructure & development and that person is Dr Asue Ighodalo.”

According to Engr Mustafa Musa, “We are here at Sabongida ora to spread the gospel of Dr Asue Ighodalo as the next Governor of Edo State. The personality of Dr Asue Ighodalo has left many of us who are not active politicians in awe and Edo State has been run by politicians in the past and other technocrats. We believe at this stage that Edo has gotten to, we can not afford to go backwards, we can only go forward. And among the people running for the governorship elections far, the personality of Dr Asue Ighodalo stands out because he has made a name for himself in the private sector and we think for he who has done much, more should be given back to him. We would rather give Edo State to someone who has a track record of success than go back to Israel where we are coming from.

“Over time, I have keenly observed Dr Ighodalo, he has demonstrated empathy. He has demonstrated human feelings. This was exhibited in the event when he came to Auchi during the fasting period and felicitated Muslims and Christians who were observing Easter at that period. A lot of food items were shared to celebrate the period with them and this was shared across all political lines. It wasn’t like ‘if you have to be PDP or APC or non-party members’. This hand of friendship went to them. I had the opportunity to observe him closely, to listen to him talk. I saw the way he talked. He talked like somebody who has a plan, he talked like somebody who has the capacity to move Edo State from where it is now to the next stage. For all this, I felt convinced to join the train to mobilise for Dr Asue Ighodalo as the next Governor of Edo State.”

For the Coordinator of Annewatt in Owan West and East, “We are here today in collaboration with the Afemai Coalition in conjunction with Annewatt to tell the people the reason why we must support Asue Ighodalo as the next Governor of our State. Today we are at the market in Sabongida Ora to tell people the good things that Asue Ighodalo has done and will continue to do, and the reason they must join us, support Asue Ighodalo. We have to tell them that a vote for Asue Ighodalo is a vote for progress. A vote for Asue Ighodalo is a vote for freedom. We can no more live in bondage, we need freedom and Edo State must continue to support Asue Ighodalo so that this dividend of democracy shall get to our doorstep and every one of us shall be a beneficiary.

The campaign strategy of Afemai Coalition for Asue Ighodalo which is markedly different from traditional methods of carnival and fanfare is quite penetrational with visible results and feedback. This campaign resonated deeply with the people of Owan West Local Government as it has with other target groups the Coalition has visited. The Owan West event and the interaction and responses from the people shows they are eager to elect their preferred candidate which Dr. Asue Ighodalo.

Afemai Coalition for Asue Ighodalo campaign trail is enlightening the people of Edo North to vote for a trusted leader who will take Edo to new heights, It is time for Edo people to write and make the right choice. The moment to act is now.
