NBA Honours Chairman Of NUJ Edo State Council With Distinguished Service Award

Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Benin Branch, Lion’s Bar has bestowed an Award of Distinguished Service on Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, Comrade Festus Alenkhe for his immense contribution to the society through his crime reportage.

Gatekeepers News reports that Chairman of NBA, Benin Branch, Mr. Nosa Edo-Osagie Esquire who presented the award to the Chairman, said Comrade Festus Alenkhe was considered for the award after a thorough scrutiny of his contributions to the society.

Edo-Osagie said that Comrade Alenkhe stood out among others who were selected for the same award due to his uncommon professional touch to his reportage of crime activities within and outside Nigeria.

The chairman called for collaboration between Lawyers and Journalists in all spheres of life to move society forward.

Receiving the Distinguished Service Award, Alenkhe thanked Benin Branch of the Nigeria Bar Association for deeming him worthy of such a prestigious award. He described Lawyers as one of the foremost professionals in the world.

Alenkhe said the award would spur him to do more for societal development as part of his contributions to rid the society of crime and criminality.

The Edo state Journalists chairman said NBA and NUJ will continue to work in synergy to correct the wrongs in the society and ensure that it is free from all forms of social vices for citizens to move freely without fear or intimidation.

He commended the lawyers for fighting crime through their legal defence in various courts of law in the land and their resilience in upholding justice and the rule of law.

Alenkhe who holds an Executive MASTERCLASS certificate from London Centre For Training And Development was a guest speaker at the Law Week of Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Benin Branch which was held recently in Benin City.
