President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to serving Nigeria, rather than personal gain, during a meeting with the Forum of Former Presiding Officers of the National Assembly.
Gatekeepers News reports that he emphasised that his administration is focused on delivering tangible results and making a positive impact on the nation’s infrastructure, food and energy security, education, and long-term economic stability.
“I didn’t come to look for money and exploit the situation; I came to work. I asked for the votes, and Nigerians gave them to me,” President Tinubu stated, highlighting his dedication to the country’s progress. The meeting, attended by 16 former presiding officers, aimed to foster unity and cooperation across party lines.
Tinubu acknowledged the support from the forum members and urged them to continue promoting national development goals. He also reflected on the complexities of legislative activities, constitutional reviews, and nation-building processes, expressing confidence in Nigeria’s potential for progress through collaboration and inclusiveness.
Former Senate President Ken Nnamani expressed full support for President Tinubu’s administration and its efforts to address Nigeria’s pressing challenges.
He commended the President’s courage in handling local government autonomy and praised his appointments of former presiding officers to critical national positions.
