Residents and property owners in Sabon Lugbe Southwest area, Lugbe, Abuja have seeked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s intervention following the demolition of 50 duplexes in an estate approved by the Abuja Geographic Information System (AGIS).
Gatekeepers News reports that the residents and property owners voiced their dissatisfaction with the situatuon through a statement released by spokesman for estate developers, Prince Isaac Omolua on Monday.
Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) has been at the center of controversy in recent times, with allegations of collaborating with private estate developers to harass and intimidate residents without notice.
Affected property owners claled on President Tinubu and the FCT Minister to intervene and stop the demolition, which they claim is unjust and targeted at reallocating their lands to private developers.
The residents argued that the FCDA’s actions are in contravention of their rights as legitimate landowners.
According to the estate developers; gathered FCDA are on their way to the estate to embark on demolition on Monday morning.
