US President Joe Biden has granted a full pardon to his son, Hunter Biden, who was facing sentencing for tax and gun offences.
Gatekeepers News reports that Biden said in a statement that his son had been “singled out” and called the cases “a miscarriage of justice.”
Hunter Biden had pleaded guilty to tax charges and was found guilty of possessing a gun as an illegal drug user.
The pardon comes after President Biden had previously ruled out intervening in his son’s cases.
The move has been criticised by President-elect Donald Trump, who accused Biden of abuse of power.
Hunter Biden said he would devote his life to helping those struggling with addiction, after being sober for five-and-a-half years.
