Gatekeepers News reports that these speculations emerged after comments made by renowned Nigerian filmmaker Kunle Afolayan during the 2024 Zuma International Film Festival.
Afolayan mentioned that Netflix had recently canceled several projects from unnamed filmmakers, which sparked concerns about the streaming service’s future plans in Nigeria.
In response, Netflix emphasised its ongoing dedication to the Nigerian creative sector, pointing to its collaborations with local filmmakers and investments in original content aimed at entertaining and engaging Nigerian audiences.
