Netflix has addressed rumors regarding its potential departure from the Nigerian market, affirming its commitment to investing in the local film industry.

Gatekeepers News reports that these speculations emerged after comments made by renowned Nigerian filmmaker Kunle Afolayan during the 2024 Zuma International Film Festival.

Afolayan mentioned that Netflix had recently canceled several projects from unnamed filmmakers, which sparked concerns about the streaming service’s future plans in Nigeria.
