Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) has cracked down on Jols Medix Limited, the company behind the controversial Lung Detox Tea advert, which allegedly promotes smoking.
Gatekeepers News reports that according to ARCON’s Director, Dr Olalekan Fadolapo, the advert was not submitted for vetting nor approved by the Advertising Standards Panel (ASP), the statutory body responsible for ensuring all advertisements conform to the Nigerian Code of Advertising.
ARCON’s investigation, prompted by a petition, revealed that Jols Medix Limited had exposed multiple unapproved advertisements on its Instagram page, including those for products like The EU Tea, Lungitox Smoker Pride, and Lubosisiac Xtreem.
These products claim to be effective for various health issues, including ulcer pains, healthy smoking, and improved s3x drive, but ARCON has deemed these claims unsubstantiated.
ARCON has vowed to take necessary action against the company, in line with the laws of the Nigerian Code of Advertising.
