An unconfirmed number of residents of Okija community in Anambra state, South East Nigeria have reportedly lost their lives in a stampede.
Gatekeepers News reports that the stampede occurred on Saturday morning during an event for the distribution of yuletide rice.
Recently, At least 35 children died and six were severely injured after a crowd crush at a Christmas funfair in the city of Ibadan in Nigeria.
Police said they have arrested eight people, including the organiser of the carnival Naomi Silekunola.
