Nigerian Army Appoints First Infantry Female Warrant Officer

Nigerian Army has decorated Hajara Egbunu as an army warrant officer (WO), the most senior role for non-commissioned officers.

Gatekeepers News reports that Mathias Amatso, commander of Nigerian Army Women Command (NAWC) honoured Egbunu with her new rank at a ceremony in Abuja on Friday.

Egbunu is the first female soldier from elite Infantry Corps and NAWC to attain the prestigious rank of Army Warrant Officer.

According to Amatso; Egbubu’s promotion reflected her hard work, dedication, and effectiveness.

He advised the WO to continue inspiring younger soldiers, in line with the core values of the Nigerian Army.
