President Tinubu To Attend Sustainability Summit In UAE

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Lagos on Monday for Accra, Ghana, to attend the country’s President-elect, John Dramani Mahama’s inauguration.

Gatekeepers News reports that Tinubu was invited to the ceremony by President-elect Mahama.

The inauguration is billed to be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, in Accra, the capital of the Republic of Ghana.

Mahama, who had previously served as the 12th President of Ghana between 2011 and 2017 won the presidential election held in December 2024. He is to succeed President Nana Akuffo-Addo.

Recall that Mahama shortly after his election, visited Tinubu in December 2024.

Bayo Onanuga, special adviser to President Tinubu on information and strategy in a statement, noted that Mahama and Tinubu have a longstanding personal relationship, akin to what Nigeria and Ghana share through their bilateral relationship.

According to the spokesman, President Tinubu, as Chairman of ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, will join other African leaders at the ceremony.

He will be accompanied by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mrs Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and other senior government officials.
