I Almost Died 7 Years Ago— Pastor Adeboye

Enoch Adeboye, general overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has disclosed that he nearly died seven years ago.

Gatekeepers News reports that the cleric spoke on his near-death experience during the March edition of the Holy Ghost Congress.

According to Adeboye; while attending an evangelism programme in llesha, he developed severe body aches due to the poor road conditions, which left him bedridden during the Christmas celebration.

The cleric recounted how his health deteriorated, forcing him to charter a helicopter to return to the campground.

Pastor Adeboye stressed that traveling by road would have been fatal, given his physical condition at the time.

He said, “By the third day of this Go and Fishing, because the roads were very bad, my body could not take it anymore. So it broke down completely. For the first time in my life, I spent Christmas in bed.”

“The devil was sure he has gotten me at last. I broke down completely in llesha. To get me back to camp I needed to charter a helicopter. I was so down that if I had traveled by road, definitely between llesha and here I would have died.”

The cleric expressed gratitude to God for keeping him alive seven years after the incident.

Adeboye recalled the challenges he faced, including the helicopter’s takeoff being disrupted by area boys who damaged one of the windows.

He said, “So we chartered a helicopter. But then, some area boys decided that the helicopter will not take off. I managed to get in. But they clanged to the helicopter until one of the windows tore. But somehow, I managed to get to the camp.”

“I had an assurance that if only I can get to the camp I will recover. Well, seven years later I am still here.”
