Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), on Monday, praised the local production of combat equipment by an Indigenous company, saying it will boost the Army’s operations in different parts of the country.
Gatekeepers News reports that Lt Gen Oluyede gave the commendation while taking delivery of the locally produced All-Terrain Combat Vehicles during the 2025 COAS Bi-Annual Conference in northeast Maiduguri, Borno State.
The vehicles were produced by the Vanquish Industries based in Kaduna, Northwest Nigeria.
“From what see here today, this is a clear manifestation of what we can do in Nigeria. We commend the company.
“These vehicles will boost our operation and troops advancement into difficult areas. We will put them into judicious use, for the purpose they are meant to serve,” said the Chief of Army Staff.
The All-Terrain Combat Vehicles called Vanquisher primarily enhance infantry mobility, assisting military troops to move into the difficult terrain of operation according to the Managing Director of Vanquish Industries Limited, Mr
Zach Duwa.
Built with military-grade materials, Duwa said the special operational vehicles are equipped with night vision technology, which allows troops to navigate even in the dark.
He explained that the vehicle can also accommodate another facility that boosts troops’ efficiency and performance over their targets.
Duwa explained that the five vehicles were the first set of deliveries, adding that the remaining are still in production. He assured them they would be delivered at the scheduled time, a tradition he said the company has kept for years.
The latest purchase underscores the Nigerian Army’s compliance with the Federal Government’s new agenda for the promotion and patronage of Made-in-Nigeria products by public and private institutions in the country.
