Netflix announced an increase in its subscription prices in Nigeria, marking the third adjustment since 2024.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Premium Plan will now cost N8,500 per month, representing a 21.43% increase from the previous price of N7,000.
Also, the Standard Plan, which offers HD quality and multi-screen support, has been raised to N6,500, an 18.18% increase from N5,500.
The Basic Plan saw a 14.29% hike, moving from N3,500 to N4,000. Meanwhile, the Mobile Plan, Netflix’s most economical option, now costs N2,500, up by 13.64% from its prior price of N2,200.
In 2024, Netflix implemented two price increases within a three-month period, first in April and again in July.
The company has stated that these adjustments are part of a global pricing strategy aimed at enhancing revenue and supporting its expanding range of content.
“As we invest in and improve Netflix, we’ll occasionally ask our members to pay a little extra to reflect those improvements,” the company noted in a letter to shareholders.
“This helps drive the positive flywheel of additional investment to further improve and grow our service,” it added.
