Lookman Can Only Leave Atalanta For Super Top Club Abroad – CEO

Atalanta CEO Antonio Percassi has confirmed that Ademola Lookman can only leave the club for a “super top club” outside Italy.

Gatekeepers Newreports that the statement comes after Lookman accused Atalanta of refusing to honor an agreement to allow him to join another team despite a suitable offer.

Percassi explained that a pact was made with Lookman a year ago when the club rejected a €20 million bid from Paris Saint-Germain FC.

According to Percassi, the agreement included two conditions: Lookman would only be sold to a super, top European club, and he would not wear any other Italian team’s shirt after leaving Atalanta.

“We told him: we’ll let you leave in 2025 for a super top club and not in Italy,” Percassi said.

“Today, as you know, the situation is very different. The club is always careful when evaluating the value and timing of its players, but as always, it is Atalanta, the club, that decides.”

The tension between Lookman and Atalanta escalated after the club rejected Inter Milan’s latest offer to sign the 27-year-old.

Lookman has since deleted all posts related to Atalanta on his Instagram page, unfollowed the club, and removed pictures of himself in the team’s jersey.

Percassi’s statement emphasizes Atalanta’s control over Lookman’s destiny, contradicting Inter Milan’s ambitions to secure the player this summer.

The situation remains fluid, with all eyes on how the next chapter of Lookman’s career will unfold.
