Senate President Godswill Akpabio has returned to Nigeria after a brief vacation in London, dispelling refuted rumours that he was critically ill and hospitalised in the United Kingdom.
Gatekeepers News reports that Akpabio addressed the rumours after returning to Nigeria from a brief vacation in London.
Before his trip, Akpabio attended the sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Geneva, held from July 29 to 31, 2025. He then proceeded to London for a short break.
He arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at about 4:00 a.m. on Monday, where he was welcomed at the presidential wing by senators, aides, and supporters.
Addressing journalists on arrival, the Senate President dismissed the speculation about his health saying, “There’s nothing like such. I’m fit as a fiddle. I only stopped over in London for a short vacation.”
He assured Nigerians of more robust parliamentary engagements when the Senate reconvenes.
