Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has redeployed its Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, to the Delta State Command where he will now serve as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations.
Gatekeepers News reports that Adejobi, who was recently promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police following approval by the Police Service Commission (PSC), will oversee security operations, crime prevention, and police-community relations in the oil-rich state, regarded as one of the country’s most sensitive security zones.
According to police sources, his redeployment is part of routine administrative postings of senior officers and not punitive in nature.
A senior officer familiar with the development said, “The deployment of officers is a normal administrative procedure in the Nigeria Police Force. DCP Adejobi’s record of professionalism, commitment, and service excellence made him a natural fit for this crucial operational responsibility.”
Force Headquarters described the move as strategic, placing Adejobi at the centre of operational command in a state that has historically faced violent crimes and security challenges.
His experience in public communication, community engagement, and operational coordination is expected to strengthen policing efforts in the region.
