Prince Harry Reunites With King Charles For First Time Since 2024

Prince Harry has met with his father, King Charles III, at Clarence House in London, marking their first known meeting in over a year.

Gatekeepers Newreports that the Duke of Sussex, who has been in the UK since Monday for a series of public engagements, was seen arriving at the royal residence on Wednesday in a black car—just over an hour after the king returned from Scotland.

It is the pair’s first reported encounter since February 2024, when Harry visited following Charles’s cancer diagnosis. Despite his repeated trips to Britain over the past year, Harry had not managed to see his father, even on one occasion when they were just two miles apart at separate events.

Harry, who stepped away from royal duties in 2020 and moved to California, has admitted that relations with his family remain strained. In May, he acknowledged that he and the king were not on speaking terms, citing his ongoing court cases in the UK and criticism he has levelled against the royal household in interviews and his memoir.

Still, the prince has expressed hope for healing the rift. “Reconciliation” with his father, he said, was important as he did “not know how much longer my father has.”

The reunion comes shortly after Harry visited the grave of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, on Monday. His trip also includes several charity events.

Speculation of a meeting between father and son grew in July when Charles’s press secretary and Harry’s head of communications were photographed together in London, accompanied by the prince’s UK spokesman. A photo of them seated on a private terrace, published by the Mail on Sunday, intensified rumours of a thaw in relations.
