Nigeria @ 65: Akpabio – Akume – Musa – Others Attend Special Service

Federal Government on Sunday held a special thanksgiving and prayer service at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja, ahead of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day anniversary.

Gatekeepers News reports that in attendance were Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, and their spouses.

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, and former Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, were also present.

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, led the service chiefs, including Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogala, Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service Kemi Nandap, and Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service Sylvester Nwakuche, among others.

Recall that last week, the government unveiled the theme for the 2025 Independence Day celebrations: “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation.”

According to officials, the choice of theme reflects Nigeria’s resilience since independence in 1960 and underscores the need to build on past achievements under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
