TETFund To Hold National Town Hall Meeting On Accountability In Tertiary Education

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has announced plans to organise a national town hall meeting.

Gatekeepers News reports that the aim of the meeting is to improve transparency, accountability, and stakeholder participation in Nigeria’s tertiary education system.

In a statement on Monday in Abuja, Mansur Liman, special assistant to the chairman of the TETFund board of trustees, said the event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday under the leadership of Aminu Masari, chairman of the board.

According to Liman, the town hall will create an opportunity for open dialogue between TETFund and major stakeholders in the education sector, while also showcasing the agency’s achievements and impact across institutions nationwide.

He noted that the initiative reflects TETFund’s ongoing commitment to openness and inclusivity in carrying out its mandate.

Liman said, “This forum is designed to close the communication gap between TETFund and the Nigerian public, ensuring citizens fully understand our role and interventions in the education sector.”

He added that two keynote papers would be presented by prominent education experts, while attendees would include policymakers, academics, civil society groups, students, and members of the public.

Liman said, “The interactive format of the meeting will enable participants to engage directly with TETFund officials and offer constructive input on how to enhance the Fund’s operations and interventions.”
