The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced plans to conduct its annual 10-kilometre Walk/Jog Exercise in Abuja on Saturday as part of efforts to enhance the physical fitness and operational readiness of its personnel.

Gatekeepers Newreports that the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja.

Ejodame said the exercise highlights the crucial role of physical fitness in maintaining military efficiency and overall mission readiness.

According to him, the exercise will begin at 6:00 a.m. and end at 8:00 a.m., covering the service lane between Karu Bridge and Mogadishu Cantonment Bridge along the Abuja–Nyanya–Keffi expressway.

He explained that the affected stretch of road will be temporarily closed to vehicular movement during the two-hour period to ensure the safety of participants and road users.

“Adequate arrangements have been made to guarantee the safety of participants and residents, while normal traffic flow will resume immediately after the exercise,” Ejodame said.

He thanked the public for their understanding and cooperation, noting that the exercise forms part of the Air Force’s commitment to promoting the health, well-being, and effectiveness of its personnel in fulfilling their constitutional duties.
