Ex-UNILORIN SU VP Emerges 2025 Veterinary Outlier, Honoured For Leadership Excellence

A former Vice President of the University of Ilorin, Students’ Union, Dr. Adegoke Rodiyah has been named the outlier of the 2025 set of veterinary graduates.

Gatekeepers News reports that Rodiyah was named outlier for her leadership excellence.

She was presented with the award during the Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN) induction of 32 graduates of the institution into the council.

The inductees graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of UNILORIN In the 2024/2025 academic session.

The outlier award is an award given to the most outstanding student in the graduating set of Veterinary Medicine.

The Prize is given out by Farm-Alert, an agro-vet business company with their Headquarters in Abuja, they recently launched in Liberia.

Rodiyah earned the award for her passion about leadership, community health and climate action.

Through her six-year journey as a student, she participated in many volunteering roles and also managed several leadership offices.

She served as a honourable representing her constituency at the fauculty level, and thereafter represented her faculty twice as a Senator at the Students’ Union senate Council.

She left a track having co-sponsored a bill to establish a female Hall representative for the Veterinary clinical hostel and also served as the chairperson for the Students Liaison Committee.

The peak of Rodiyah’s leadership was serving as the Vice President Students Union, the first-time a Veterinary student contested and emerged as an executive in the Students’ Union.

For her excellence performance in her first time in office, she established the record of the first person to serve twice consecutively as the Vice President of the Students Union.

Rodiyah while responding to this recognition appreciated the company for the award, promising to continue to invest her time and resources into investing in people.
