Nigeria Refutes Trump’s Allegation Of Christian Killings

Donald Trump

Federal Government of Nigeria has dismissed recent comments by former U.S. President Donald Trump alleging large-scale killings of Christians in Nigeria and calling for the country’s designation as a “Country of Particular Concern.”

Gatekeepers News reports that in a statement issued on Saturday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government described Trump’s claims as inaccurate and not reflective of the situation in the country.

The statement was signed by Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“While Nigeria appreciates global concern for human rights and religious freedom, these claims do not reflect the situation on the ground. Nigerians of all faiths have long lived, worked, and worshipped together peacefully,” the statement read.

The Ministry emphasized that under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the government remains committed to combating terrorism, promoting interfaith harmony, and protecting the rights and lives of all citizens.

It added that Nigeria will continue to engage with the United States government to foster better understanding of the country’s peace and security efforts.
