Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has approved the appointment of 34 new officials to serve in strategic boards, agencies, and advisory roles across the state.
Gatekeepers News reports that according to a statement released on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibraheem Musa, the appointments are aimed at injecting innovative and resourceful professionals into Kaduna’s ongoing socio-economic and political reform efforts.
The new appointees cut across vital sectors including education, media, environmental management, and vocational training. In the education sector, Suwaiba Shehu Ibrahim was appointed Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Senior Secondary Schools Education Board.
Ibrahim previously served as Permanent Secretary at the Teachers Service Board and lectured at Kaduna State University. Other members of the board include Nita Byack George, Monday Tela Bako, Aliyu Haruna Ahmed, and Aliyu Ibrahim, with Muhammad Kabir Uthman serving as secretary.
At the Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development, Phoebe Sukai Yayia and Muhammad Sulaiman were appointed Deputy Provosts for the Samarun Kataf and Soba campuses respectively, while Abdullahi Kabir was named Registrar.
In the media sector, El-Said Yakubu Lere, a veteran broadcaster and founder of Liberty Radio Kaduna, was appointed Chairman of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC), while Zakari Aliyu Ahmed will serve as Executive Director.
Other key appointments include Gambo Mathew Bulus as Chairman of the Kaduna State Agricultural Development Agency (KADA); Lawal Usman as Chairman of the Kaduna State Scholarship and Loans Board; and Suleiman Ibrahim as General Manager of the Kaduna State Environmental Protection Agency (KEPA).
Further appointments were made in the mining and legal sectors, with Usman Umar named Executive Director (Corporate Services) of the Kaduna Mining Development Company Ltd, Abdulrauf Atiku as Special Adviser on Legal Matters, and Murjanatu Sulaiman Shika as Special Adviser on Vocational Training and Skills Development.
Additional senior and special assistants were appointed to oversee portfolios such as leadership, job creation, humanitarian affairs, and public relations. They include Timothy Chindo (Emergency Management), Abdullahi A. U. Ladan and Yusuf Umar Garkuwa (Citizenship and Leadership I & II), and Aaron Bako (Citizenship and Leadership III).
Others are Sulaiman Abubakar Kinkinau (Research, Documentation, and Strategy II), Binta Muhammad (Public Relations), Francis A. Sani, known as Zimbo (Industrial Training and Development), and Abdullahi Muhammad Sani, known as Lema (Special Duties IV).
Augustine Beguwa was named Senior Special Assistant on Job Creation, Salamatu Saleh Kida on Humanitarian Affairs, Yusuf Aliyu Ahmed on Special Duties, and Abubakar Aliyu on Stakeholder Relations II. Atang Musa Danjuma will serve as Special Assistant on Citizenship and Leadership, while Nasir Aliyu Baban Yaya, Zainab Sani Giwa, Yusuf Usman, and Dogara Unyem were appointed to various positions under Support Groups and Special Duties.
Governor Sani congratulated the appointees and reminded them that their selection represents a call to serve the people of Kaduna State.
The Governor further urged them to approach their new assignments with total commitment, diligence, fairness, and humility.
He noted that the move is part of his administration’s wider effort to strengthen public institutions and enhance effective service delivery across all sectors of the state.
