Eti-Osa Roads: Adegboruwa Suggests Ways To Ease Traffic During Repairs Eti-Osa Roads: Adegboruwa Suggests Ways To Ease Traffic During Repairs
Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, has appealed to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to implement measures that will reduce traffic disruption during the planned comprehensive repairs of key sections of the Lagos-Epe Expressway.
Gatekeepers News reports that in a statement dated 13 November 2025, Adegboruwa commended the Lagos State Government for its ongoing infrastructure development, noting the steady progress of the Lagos-Epe Expressway without interruption.
However, he expressed concern that the repair works, which will affect the busiest portions of the road, could lead to significant traffic congestion and inconvenience for road users.
To mitigate the expected disruption, Adegboruwa suggested:

1. Permanent traffic officers should be stationed at major sections of the road during the period of the repairs, to manage traffic.

2. Emergency medical services along the road corridor should be maintained, to cater for cases that may require urgent medical attention.

3. Effective collaboration between federal and Lagos State authorities to open the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as alternative route for motorists.

4. Accelerate the construction of the Lekki Regional Road to ease traffic congestion on the main expressway.

5. Consider late night hours for serious repairs works and movement of heavy machinery and equipment.

Adegboruwa also urged the government to adopt more durable road construction methods, such as concrete or interlocking paving stones, to ensure lasting maintenance given the challenging terrain in the Eti-Osa area.
He emphasized that, with Lagos State’s substantial revenue from federal allocations and internally generated revenue, providing a permanent solution to road construction and maintenance should be achievable.
“God bless Lagos State. God bless Nigeria,” Adegboruwa concluded.
