Tinubu Approves Leadership Changes In NEITI And NIWA

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reassigned Musa Adar to serve as the new executive secretary of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), bringing an end to Ogbonnaya Orji’s tenure, which began in 2021.

Gatekeepers News reports that the announcement was made on Tuesday through a statement issued by Segun Imohiosen, director of information and public relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

Adar’s redeployment follows his transition from his previous role as chairman of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).

The president also appointed Mukhtar Shagari, a former minister of water resources, to take over as the new NIWA chairman.

According to the statement, both the redeployment and appointment take immediate effect.

Tinubu encouraged the officials to uphold national interest as they take on their new responsibilities, urging them to utilise their experience to promote transparency, accountability, and improved service delivery in their respective agencies.
