President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded the 2026–2028 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper to the national assembly for consideration.

Gatekeepers News reports that the president’s request was read aloud on Thursday by the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, during plenary.

In the letter, the President said the documents were sent for the kind consideration and approval of the distinguished senators.

He explained that the federal executive council had already endorsed both documents at its meeting held on December 3, 2025.

Tinubu noted that the 2026 budget will be drafted using the economic assumptions and policy guidelines contained in the approved framework and strategy paper. He urged lawmakers to give the submission quick attention.

The Deputy Senate President has directed the committee on finance to review the documents and present its report to the Senate on December 17.
