Gatekeepers News reports that Tinubu made the remarks in a birthday message marking Wike’s 58th birthday on Saturday, praising his dedication to infrastructure development and public service in the FCT.

In a statement released by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, the president said Wike has shown purpose, service, and courage since taking office, adding that his track record has lived up to his reputation as “Mr Project”.

He said, “Nyesom Wike has been one of the shining stars in the cabinet, an exceptional performer, developing infrastructure in the federal capital as never seen before and proving that his moniker as ‘Mr Project’ is not limited to his home state of Rivers.”

The president pointed to recent achievements in the FCT, including resolving a 14-year delay that stalled the completion of the Apo–Karshi road, crediting Wike’s intervention for the breakthrough.

Tinubu also praised the minister’s work ethic, describing his “resilience, can-do attitude, and commitment to excellence”, and expressed appreciation for his “consistent efforts in delivering results”.

He added, “I commend him for being one of the champions of our Renewed Hope Agenda, even though he belongs to another party, and wish him well as he marks another year in his life journey.”

Tinubu concluded by praying for continued strength for Wike as he carries on with his responsibilities in FCT.
