All Progressives Congress (APC) has made a clean sweep in Borno’s local government elections, winning all 27 chairmanship seats, Alh. Tahiru Shettima, Borno State Independent Electoral Commission (BOSIEC) Chairman announced on Monday.
Gatekeepers News reports that the election according to BOSIEC Chairman was conducted peacefully and in accordance with relevant electoral laws and guidelines.
BOSIEC Chairman disclosed this during a press conference held in the Commission’s office in Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital after receiving the last local government results from Biu.
According to the Chairman, the local government election results had been announced by respective local government retuning officers in various local government areas.
“My task is to announce the list of the Chairman- elect . APC candidates won the elections in all the 27 local government areas.
“So far , by this announcement, the excise which began on 13th December 2025 is now concluded .” Shettima said .
The BOSIEC Chairman who revealed the Councillorship results have also been announced by the Ward returning officers, commended the electoral officers , particularly the returning officers whom he described as people with ” high integrity and high intellectual capacity.” Shettima said
He therefore appeal to the elected officials to prioritize delivering dividends of democracy and justify the trust reposed in them.
