Borno State First Lady, Falmata Babagana Zulum on Thursday distributed cash and food items to 600 Christian widows to help them celebrate Christmas with their families.
Gatekeepers reports that the wife of the state governor who had carried out similar activities in previous years, said she’s committed to supporting vulnerable groups, including widows and orphans.
Falmata Babagana Zulum made this known during while handing over the Christmas gift items to the widows at the Government House, Maiduguri the State capital.

According to the First Lady , ” Christmas is a sacred period of sober reflection, shared affection, and the celebration of humanity, faith, and generosity. Today, we come together to recognize and honor the strength of these remarkable women who continue to carry the light of love and perseverance, even while facing the challenges of life with courage and dignity.

” In line with this administration’s unwavering commitment to the welfare and well-being of all citizens, I am pleased to inform you that, as part of our ongoing intervention efforts, 600 Christian widows will receive support consisting of ₦50,000 each, a 25kg bag of rice, a carton of spaghetti, and cooking oil.
“These gifts, though modest, are a sincere expression of our solidarity, respect, and prayers for you, especially at a time that embodies the true spirit of giving.” The wife of the state governor said.

The Commissioner of Women Affairs And Social Development Hon.Zuwaira Gambo commended the continued efforts of the First Lady at reaching out to vulnerable persons, expecially women and children.
” This program is a testament to the vision, compassion, and tireless dedication of our First Lady. Through her leadership, she continues to ensure that even ahead of Christmas, children, women, and families across Borno State feel remembered, cared for, and supported. Beyond the distribution of gifts, this event represents hope, joy, and the unity that binds our communities together.

” The First Lady’s initiative today is a clear demonstration of the positive impact of peace and stability. With peace restored in many parts of the state, children can laugh, play, and look forward to brighter futures; women are empowered to participate fully in societal development; and families feel supported and valued. This is the Borno State we all dreamt of a state where every citizen can live with dignity, security, and hope.” Hon. Zuwaira said .
