President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, to inaugurate a series of projects executed by Governor Babagana Zulum.
Gatekeepers News reports that the president is set to commission newly built schools, electric vehicles, and other initiatives delivered through collaboration between the federal government and the state.
According to Bayo Onanuga, the president’s special adviser on information and strategy, Tinubu’s visit is the start of a three‑state trip to Borno, Bauchi, and Lagos on Saturday, December 20.
Onanuga also noted that Tinubu will attend the wedding of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of former Borno state Governor Ali Modu Sheriff.
After events in Maiduguri, the president is scheduled to travel to Bauchi to offer condolences to the state government and the family of Dahiru Bauchi, the late Muslim cleric and leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood, who passed away on November 27. Following the condolence visit, Tinubu will head to Lagos to spend the Christmas and end‑of‑year holidays.
While in Lagos, the president is expected to participate in several activities, including serving as the guest of honour at the Eyo Festival on December 27.
Onanuga said the celebration at Tafawa Balewa Square will recognise notable personalities, among them Tinubu’s mother, Abibatu Mogaji, and former governors Lateef Jakande and Michael Otedola.
