Explosion Rocks Kebbi General Hospital

An early morning explosion occurred at General Hospital in Bagudo LGA of Kebbi State.

Gatekeepers News reports that the incident caused a sudden rush for safety within the hospital premises, raising concerns about possible casualties.

Confirming the development on Tuesday, the state police spokesperson, Bashir Usman, said no lives were lost in the explosion.

He noted that although a building within the hospital’s staff quarters was damaged, the occupants had been evacuated long before the incident.

Usman said a combined team of police officers, military personnel, and vigilance group members immediately secured the hospital and surrounding areas.

He added that explosive ordnance disposal and chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear experts were deployed to assess the situation.

The spokesman further stated that the Commissioner of Police has strengthened security in the area by deploying additional tactical teams to ensure order.

The police advised residents to remain calm and keep away from the affected location as investigations continue, assuring that updates would be provided as more information becomes available.
