Davido Dismisses Fresh DNA Request And Insists Five Tests Already Proved Child Is Not His

Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has rejected a renewed call for a DNA test from a teenage girl who claims to be his daughter, insisting that multiple tests conducted in the past already established that he is not her biological father.

Gatekeepers Newreports that the singer’s reaction followed a public appeal by Anu Adeleke, who has for years claimed to be Davido’s first child. In a lengthy Instagram post shared on Thursday, January 15, 2026, the teenager asked the artiste to consent to a DNA test to “establish my identity,” citing years of bullying, emotional distress and uncertainty surrounding her parentage.

Anu said she chose to speak out as she entered her teenage years, explaining that she needed clarity for her own peace of mind. She also revealed that she struggled with mental health challenges as a child due to the public attention around the claim and thanked Nigerians who had supported her emotionally over the years.

Hours after the post gained widespread attention online, Davido responded on X (formerly Twitter), dismissing the request and accusing the girl’s mother of reviving an issue he said had already been settled.

In his first response, the singer stated that five DNA tests had previously been conducted, describing the renewed claim as baseless. He said both the girl and her mother should “leave me alone,” stressing that the tests had already shown he was not the child’s father.

Responding to another X user who asked whether he had ever met the girl’s mother, Davido said he had no relationship with her beyond the DNA testing process, adding that he only encountered her during the tests.

The singer further claimed that the tests were carried out at five different hospitals, with three selected by him and two chosen by the girl’s family, and that all the results returned negative.

While expressing sympathy for the teenager, Davido blamed her mother for prolonging the controversy and said he would no longer address the matter publicly. He described the situation as distressing and unfair, noting that it continued to resurface despite what he described as conclusive test results.

The paternity dispute is not new. In January 2025, Davido’s former lawyer, Prince Bobo Ajudua, publicly addressed the issue. In an Instagram comment at the time, Ajudua said DNA tests had been conducted at several reputable hospitals, including one chosen by the girl’s family, and that the results showed Davido was not the father.

Ajudua criticised the continued claims, describing them as unfair to both the Adeleke family and the child, and urged the girl’s mother to stop pursuing the matter.

As of the time of filing this report, no official DNA documents have been made public by either party. Davido has also said his latest comments will be his final response on the issue.
