Davido Paternity Claim Deepens As Girl’s Mother Seeks US Embassy Intervention

The mother of a teenage girl claiming to be the daughter of Nigerian music star Davido has accused the singer of lying and called for a fresh DNA test to be supervised by the United States embassy.

Gatekeepers Newreports that the controversy began after the teenager, Anu Adeleke, posted an open letter on Instagram, saying she had been subjected to severe bullying over an unresolved paternity claim and urging Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, to take a DNA test to establish her identity.

In his response, Davido denied the claim, stating that five separate DNA tests had already been conducted and all returned negative results.

He said three of the tests were carried out at hospitals of his choice, while the remaining two were conducted at facilities selected by the girl’s mother.

Hours after Davido’s denial, Anu’s mother, identified as Labinjoh, took over her daughter’s Instagram page to counter the singer’s claims, alleging manipulation of previous tests and calling for an independent investigation.

She claimed she met Davido in 2013 while working as a waitress at the GQ Club in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, and challenged the credibility of the five DNA tests cited by the singer.

Labinjoh accused Davido’s former lawyer, Bobo Ajudua, of misleading the public over the number and credibility of the tests conducted.

She further alleged that a 2014 test supervised by Davido’s father, Dr Adedeji Adeleke, was conducted in a laboratory rather than a hospital, claiming that her daughter’s blood sample was discarded and a false result produced.

“I’m NOT David’s baby mama or a b*tch. David Adeleke has largely ignored me for years because he thought he picked up a prostitute from GQ Club in Ibadan. I was a waitress and not picked up on the streets. I come from a good home,” she wrote.

“Last time, it was his lawyer Bobo Ajudua who brainwashed Nigerians that there were two tests done, and I chose the hospital. Dr Deji Adeleke took us to a LAB, not a hospital, where Anu’s blood was drawn in 2014 then discarded behind our backs and fake result was printed,” she added.

Labinjoh also named individuals she accused of involvement in the alleged manipulation of the test, claiming the process disrupted her daughter’s mental health.

“We wasted our time, disrupted Anu’s mental health, then they lied that we did two tests, now five, and then he’s never met me,” she said.

Calling for international oversight, she added: “I will request the US State Department to contact the embassy in Lagos or Abuja to help us supervise and witness a clean, independent DNA test.”

She concluded by condemning what she described as derogatory language used by Davido in his response to her daughter’s appeal.

“I will not say much for now. The language used was awful. My daughter did not beg to be here. Saying you’ve never met me or telling your family that I was a prostitute is wrong,” she said.
