Gov Aliyu Condoles Shagari Over Passing Of His Elder Brother

Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has condoled former Deputy Governor, Barrister Mukhtar Shagari, over the passing of his elder brother, Alhaji Sani Ayya Shagari, who died on Sunday.

Gatekeepers News reports that according to a statement by Abubakar Bawa, Director General
of Media and Publicity in the state Government House on Sunday, the late Alhaji Sani Ayya Shagari died at the age of 75 and is survived by his wife and other relatives.

Governor Aliyu described the death as a great loss not only to the people of Shagari but to Sokoto State as a whole.

He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased his shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and comfort the bereaved family.

In his response, the former Deputy Governor, Barrister Mukhtar Shagari, expressed gratitude to Governor Ahmed Aliyu for the various development projects being executed in Shagari Local Government Area.

He further commended the people-oriented projects being carried out by the Governor across the state.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Shagari Local Government Area, Barrister Mai Dawa, thanked the Governor for the condolence visit and prayed to Almighty Allah to reward him abundantly and continue to guide him in the administration of the state.

Similarly, Governor Ahmed Aliyu also condoled the family of late Alhaji Hali Sahabi Sifawa, popularly known as Mai Nasara, who died at the age of 65 and is survived by two wives and 15 children.

At all the places visited, special prayers were offered for the repose of the souls of the deceased.
