EPL: Arsenal Go Seven Points Clear As Liverpool And Chelsea Win

Arsenal moved further clear at the top of the English Premier League (EPL) standings on Saturday after a dominant 4-0 victory over Leeds United.

Arsenal’s triumph at Elland Road made it seven points ahead of second-placed Manchester City and Aston Villa, strengthening their bid for the title this season.

At Anfield, Liverpool finally ended a league drought with a convincing 4-1 victory over Newcastle United, overturning an early deficit thanks to two quick goals from Hugo Ekitike before halftime and further strikes by Florian Wirtz and Ibrahima Konaté in the second half.

The comeback was Liverpool’s first Premier League win of 2026 and showcased strong performances from several of the Reds’ summer signings as they climbed to fifth in the table.

Chelsea produced another dramatic turnaround at Stamford Bridge, coming from two goals behind to defeat West Ham United 3-2. Goals from Joao Pedro and Marc Cucurella brought them level before Enzo Fernandez scored a late winner deep into added time, lifting Chelsea into the top four and keeping European qualification hopes alive.

Arsenal’s commanding win saw Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres and Gabriel Jesus on target, with Leeds keeper Karl Darlow also adding to Arsenal’s tally with an own goal. The result ended a brief run without a league win for the Gunners and showed their strength even without injured players.
