Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo state has approved the appointment of 32 new permanent secretaries into the state civil service as part of efforts to strengthen public service delivery and improve administrative efficiency.
Gatekeepers News reports that the development was announced in a statement issued on Monday by Ebenezer Adeniyan, chief press secretary to the Governor. He said the appointments followed a rigorous selection process aimed at promoting competence, professionalism, and dedication within the civil service.
According to the statement, the newly appointed permanent secretaries include Tayo Ogundare, Morayo Bayo-Philip, Adeyemi Sule, Olufunso Tunji-Omoniyi, Olanrewaju Abiodun, Tope Lebile, Stephen Aworere, Omotayo Akeju, Olufemi Moyinolorun, Olakunle Ajibade, Oluwakemi Akinyemi, Bamidele Daisi, Akinluyi Omotola, Olumide Kinga, Ope Adetoye, and Olusiji Olatunji.
Others are Oluseyi Odusola, Funke Adelayi, Akindele Ige, Olanrewaju Akarakiri, Abike Ilawole, Abimbola Tofowomo, Kolawole Kayode, Peter Akingbade, Ayodeji Ogudare, Adeduro Akinbola, Ibidapo Ojo, Olusegun Orisabinone, Idowu Owolabi, Adeoye O. Atibioke, Toyin Awotoye, and Ayodeji Ayeku.
Adeniyan also disclosed that the Governor approved the confirmation of two senior officers into key statutory positions. Olusola Sunday Ajayi was confirmed as statistician-general, while Charles Tunde Ojuolape was confirmed as auditor-general for local governments, subject to clearance by the Ondo State House of Assembly.
He said the appointments and confirmations are part of the Governor’s broader plan to reposition the state civil service for higher productivity, accountability, and effective service delivery to residents.
“The confirmation and appointments take effect from February 1, 2026. The swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed officers will be held on a date to be announced later,” the statement added.
The move has been welcomed by stakeholders, who described it as a step toward strengthening governance and improving public sector performance across the state.
