2027 Governorship: ADC Vows to Unseat APC in Borno

The opposition African Democratic Congress ( ADC) in Borno State on Tuesday boasted that the party is ready to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 gubenatorial election.

Gatekeepers News reports that the ADC claims it has full support of the masses in the state hence, they’re poised to secure a victory in the 2027 governorship election.

Chairman of the ADC in Borno, Hon. Mohammed Umar Bolori ,made this assertion during a press conference held in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, where party leaders, youth and women leader were present.

According to Bolori, the ADC has carefully studied the political landscape of the state and is convinced that the electorate is yearning for a credible alternative that will transform the lives of the masses in the state.

“We’re not ready to disclose the strategy we’re deploying towards winning the 2027 governorship election, but I want to reveal that the masses of Borno State are backing the ADC. ” Bolori said

The Chairman also uses the medium to apologise to one of its leaders – the former Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund ( TETFund ) Alh Kashim Ibrahim Imam and pledged their loyalty.

The ADC Chairman and other leaders had accused Imam for allegedly working against the party, but now they’re singing a different tune, saying they’re open to supporting him for governorship in 2027 if he decides to run.

“Following series of meetings and holistic reconciliation, we were made to understand that we acted in error and hence we apologise to our national leaders , particularly H.E Kashim Ibrahim Imam and pledged our loyalty to him in the interest of the party “.

The Chairman added that ” on this note , we officially recognise and accepted the innaugurated State Transitionanal Committee under the leadership of Alhaji Ali Bukar Wurge and the registration of Committee under the leadership of Hon Peter Biye accordingly . I therefore urge all our stakeholders to support the committees to carry out their mandates successfully.”
